When I saw the envelope in my mailbox from Riverton I knew what was in it. I took it out and slowly walked back to the house. I placed the envelope on the kitchen table and just looked at it for a while. It was a white legal sized envelope addressed to me in blue handwriting. It had a first class stamp with the statue of liberty on it. I studied the blurry postmark and read both the address and return address several times. I had been anxiously awaiting this in the mail but now that it was in my possession I was sad. My shaking hands slowly opened it as if they were opening explosives. I took a deep breath and pulled out the single piece of paper and carefully unfolded it. There it was. The small key was taped to the center of the blank piece of notebook paper with a handwritten note on top reading "Ennis always had this on him. Regards, Stuart. Bluebonnet Trailer Park". It was the key to his trailer. The key was about two inches long, gold in color, the numbers 64952 were engraved on it. I didn't want to unattach it so I gently ran my index finger over it a few times through the Scotch tape. I folded the paper up and put it back in the envelope and put the envelope in a drawer. One week later I opened it again. This time I took off the tape and placed the key in the palm of my hand as a felt a tear run down my cheek. Engraved on the other side of the key was the word "Dover". I slowly rubbed the key between my palms and sobbed like a baby. A simple key and some beautiful memories were all I had left of him.
